From Chris Ambidge (one of the Wardens of the Spheniscid Zarchives) on Facebook this morning:
(#1) [CA > AZ:] Arnold! Have you considered … penguin slippers? Keeping Feathers McGraw underfoot might be the best way to make sure he doesn’t get into mischief
From the Coddies website:
Coddies® Wallace & Gromit Feathers McGraw slippers:
Silent but villainous, Feathers McGraw is the ultimate plush slipper icon!
Slip into the soft embrace of Wallace & Gromit’s Feathers McGraw himself with Coddies’ new plush slippers, designed to capture the essence of Aardman’s criminal mastermind. They fit like a glove – not unlike the red rubber glove perched atop Feathers’ head – a disguise so brilliant in its simplicity that it once outwitted Wallace and even the local law enforcement.
Coddies (named after cod, the fish) sells wacky footwear (slippers and flip–flops), plus t-shirts and accessories; the company has appeared before on this blog, in my 1/6/24 posting “Three shoeshis” (on shoe sushi — sushi in the form of a shoe — and sushi shoes — shoes resembling sushi) with a section on these Coddies plush sushi slippers:
The company’s products are inventive and their advertising materials hilarious. But the website provides no hint as to their history, nor any indication of where the headquarters (and bricks-and-mortar stores, should there be any) are located, even in what country. This is usually an indication that everything (except, presumably, the marketing and advertising) comes from China, or some other country that believes it would have more success in the Anglosphere if customers there believed its products came from there).
Feathers McGraw. Also a familiar visitor on this blog. From my 12/22/18 posting “For the season: from fish to moose, penguin intervention”, with a section on the Feathers McGraw character from The Wrong Trousers:
And then in my 4/26/21 posting “Felonious Penguin Appreciation Day”, a Feathers McGraw water bottle.
